Breckenridge Vacation

After spending a week in Nebraska, we all drove up to Breckenridge for a little weekend family vacation.  Ten hours, multiple blowouts, numerous bathroom breaks, and some tears; we made it to Colorado.  We stayed in a great VRBO with a huge hot tub, breathtaking views, and a cute swing and tree house for the kids.  We went on a short hike, rode the gondola, walked around the town, went out to eat, and just enjoyed time together.

Nebraska Trip

We flew back from Tennessee on Wednesday and the kids and I left for Nebraska on Thursday.  Erin drove with us but Patrick wasn't able to go so he helped to hold down the fort at home (aka: went hiking over the weekend).  We went to Nebraska for the weekend to celebrate Kiran and Tim's wedding.  Us sisters sang "For the Beauty of the Earth" and the "Doxology" at the wedding.  Erin was only able to stay for the weekend, but the kids and I stayed for the next week.  Ellie and Britta were at home so it was fun to spend time with both of them.  Dakota loved playing with her cousins, jumping in the bounce house, going swimming, playing at Chucky Cheese, and having Grandma push her on the swing. Corbin was working to keep up with Britta as she was crawling circles around him.

Trip to Tennessee

This was our first flight as a family of four and Dakota's first time sitting in her own seat.  We had an early morning flight out of Denver so we had to get up at 4:00 am.  Despite the early morning and not taking naps in the car on the way to Denver, the kids did great.  Dakota was excited about wearing her backpack and riding in the carseat through the airport. She sat in her carseat on the plane which was a great idea.
Once we arrived in Nashville, we drove to Cookeville and spent the night at Nana's house. The next morning we drove to Savannah, Tennessee where Barrett and Bess had their wedding.  We stayed in a VRBO which was a great set-up for the kids.  Dakota was a real champ sleeping all by herself in a dark dungeon-like room in a big girl bed.  We loved spending this extra time with Nanny and Papaw and appreciated them babysitting during the reception and wedding.
On Sunday, we drove back to Cookeville and celebrated Bryce's 2nd birthday with the Cavender family.  After the party, we made our way to Kingston.  We loved our time together, relaxing, soaking in the pool, eating yummy food, and just being entertained by the kids.  It was a great trip and fun time together as a family.
